Family Edition

IMG_9462-july IMG_9182 bro-sist IMG_9452 IMG_9259 IMG_9463 I have a lot of cousins. Both from my mother and father's side. Some of them already got married and have kids. So, automatically, I am their aunt now. Thankfully none of them call me 'aunt'. I love you, kiddos, but don't call me 'aunt'. Not yet. Took these photos when we visit my cousin. She used to live next door, but they moved to their own place years ago. They only had a son back then. Now he has a little sister and I adore how she wasn't even shy at all to the camera. I just have to point my focus on her and she would strike a pose for me! I'm happy about it. Haha. So here is somewhat a photo mess: family edition. It would fit if you listen to Cousins by Vampire Weekend. :D

3. "Ewwwww WORRRRRMMM!" (but they kept observing)
4. Those cheeks tho... yumm
5. Matching pink
6. Love her eyelashes

And there are some other things I captured around their place. My cousin has pots and pots of plants. I remember when they moved out, those plants were one of the main concern. They have a little space here and there for them here.

Did you see this flower on the previous pic?

It's July where it's supposed to be really hot here, but the weather have been a rain-wind-thunder combination. Apparently, a typhoon is hitting east Asia right now, China and Taiwan have been the most affected countries. So I really shouldn't complain about some more rain and can only daydream about a more cheerful weather. Hopefully things will get better for the victims. And for my Mom! She's battling flu on this first week of Ramadhan. See you soon.

And I'll Believe in Grace and Choice

untitled untitled
Hi. The holy month of Ramadhan is right in front of us and I really hope I can pass it much better this year. It will be equally challenging and fun. Wish me luck! I kind of want to change my blog's theme but it usually took me forever to decide on which theme I want to use and not to mention that I have to adjust it again... ugh. So probably in the end it's not gonna happen. Haha. I watched Despicable Me 2 last week. It's hilarious. I was laughing a lot that my jaw hurts after the movie was over. Damn minions. I saw my friend performed with his theater club, I hung out some other friends. It's funny how last week seems a bit busy and yet full of laughter while this week is just stressful because my mother is on day off from school and of course there's no other time for her to turn the 'cleaning up the whole house' mode on. She just won't stop. It's crazy. So maybe I'll be back with a mess of photos, hopefully soon.

Meanwhile, have you checked Mumford & Sons's music video for Babel? It's from their Grammy-winning album with the same title. Have a nice week, folks.

Out of F o c u s

untitled untitleduntitled untitled untitledHello, June! How's your June so far, guys? Some of you are mostly excited for the summer, I think. But we've been experiencing some gloomy weather the past few days here. Not that I'm complaining though. Recently, my autofocus censor on my camera has been taking more time than usual. I’m not a really patient kind of person and I don’t want to lose the moment, so I changed the focus mode to manual. I thought that I had the picture with a pretty clear focus… wrong. It was blurry and that’s when I started to worry about my sight. I never get my eyes checked. And wearing a pair of glasses sounds cool to me, but I’d rather not having to wear them every single day, you know? So anyway, I check on Google on what could possibly go wrong about my camera and I got into conclusion that there might be some dust on the AF censor (underneath the mirror in the camera’s body?). I’ve tried to clean it with a bulb blower and it seems like the AF finally able to select some points but still needs more time than usual to do so. I think I’m gonna have to clean it more thoroughly once again. Or ask for some help. If you find some of these photos are a bit blurry and wondering why, please read this paragraph again.

I took these photos at my aunt’s. One of my favorite thing from their place is the ridiculous amount of space in their front yard and backyard. There’s not much in there but I just love it, compared to the limited space we have at home, and I love to imagine having such a huge space of backyard like that for my future home. Also, in the backyard, their neighbor’s avocado tree has started to bear fruits and a bunch of them are overhanging the backyard. Man. I love avocado! Too bad those ones belong to their neighbors... haha. So good to hang out with Naya again! She was always looking for me. I asked her to pose for me and this photo below is what I got.

not mine

I feel really unproductive these past two weeks. But somehow I finally submit the draft of my internship report which needs a lot of touch up and I bought a book about the Ottoman Empire. I’m usually a not-so-slow kind of reader but with this book I’m gonna need more time. And already I’m longing for a lighter book! Haha. Then I watched two movies last week, which are Fast and Furious 6 and Now You See Me. Some action sequence in Fast 6 made me shake my head in disbelief as they’re a bit exaggerated. I also shake my head looking at Dwayne Johnson. Did he gain more muscles or was it just because he’s wearing tight clothes? He’s huge! And despite of all the exaggerations,  I like it because it’s really entertaining. There’s also an Indonesian actor in this movie. So proud of him. And Now You See Me got us fooled with the plot twists. Good list of actors in the cast, but only a few are really explored.

love this photo

Kylie recommended this band He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister. I’ve listened to some of their songs and watch some of their videos. Must admit that the first video I watched was Lazy Daze because of the face painting! Haha. And this is the song that’s stuck in my head. The drummer is really cool. And they somehow remind me to... Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros? I’ve been trying to whistle the intro of their song, Home, but so far it’s no success...

PS: I updated my link page a bit! :)

Hello.

MHM_1130420232406

Been wanted to make a new post but seems like the traffic have always kicked my butt that I end up feeling so sleepy at the end of the day, almost every day. The internship is *almost* done. We just have to get back on Monday and got our files signed and say goodbye. We brought them some cakes that we made on Thursday and I'm not sure I want to know what they think about it, because honestly, we could do so much better on those cakes! I'm seriously going to miss everyone. Need a whole other post to tell about that.

I feel like I have a lot to share that I can't even decide which one to post first. I even skipped Thursday Tunes for this month! Oh well. Okay, so since I haven't edit most of the photos, I'll finish this post here. A little story about all these mushrooms; we found them on the green area we pass everyday on one afternoon. We didn't see them the day before and they're already gone by the next day. I was so fascinated by them. Okay. Be back soon.

Some Plan(t)s

_MG_7236
Went to Bogor last Saturday with my mom’s family, about to visit some relatives, also from her side of the family. I wouldn’t want to go if we didn’t make a stop to visit my aunt from my father’s side. I always think that my father’s blood that runs in my veins that miss his hometown so much. I miss it too. It was so nice just being there, staring at the tree as we pass them by, then smell the air as the rain pours… :)

Before we left to Bogor, we wait for everyone who’s going at my cousin’s home. So I took some pictures of their little garden. The pictures I took that day were mostly plants. I imagine I will have a little garden in the backyard of my future home.

I've been stressed out by the traffic lately. Really wish I could just teleport from home to the office or anywhere I want to. It's going to save so much time, money, and negative feelings. I'm thinking if I retired one day, I'll move to a quiet place, grow my own fruits and vegetables, running away from the city... That'd be nice.
